One of the most important tasks of Wild Horse Freedom Federation today is researching and obtaining documentation of actions and policies that the Bureau of Land Management does not want the public to know.

Scott City, Kansas
In June 2014, the BLM moved 1493 wild mares from long term holding facilities to a feedlot in Scott City, Kansas, and 191 of these mares died in less than a year, 81 of them died in the first two months.

This is a BLM sales log that shows that Jim Reeves, co-owner of Spur Livestock (BLM Off-Range Pasture Contractor) bought 36 wild horses from Canon City Prison in Colorado and 36 wild horses from Palomino Valley Center in Nevada on 9-23-08:
